Join P & R at Lamma 2016

Being held as usual at the East of England Showground, Peterborough, on Wednesday 20 – Thursday 21 January 2016, the 2016 show promises to be the biggest and best yet!

As ever, P & R Hydraulics will be in attendance and you can find us in Hall 4, stand 498. Why not pop over, say hello and put faces to names?

Our Technical Director Justin Gill will be there with Colin Filby, Internal Sales Engineer. This will be Colin’s first time at LAMMA, so he’s genuinely looking forward to meeting people and putting faces to names of existing contacts of his. Additionally, James Roberts, Technical Sales Manager at Hy-Pro will be there to discuss their products and help us with technical enquiries.

It’s likely we will be focussing on products from Danfoss, Turolla and Hy-Pro; we will also be showing the new Webtec VFD190 flow-control valve.

Xmas 2015 Opening Hours

The P & R Hydraulics workshop and office will remain open as close to Christmas itself as possible. We do, however, need a break and so both our workshop and office will be shut during these times:

• Finish Wednesday 23 December 2015 at 5pm
• There will be a skeleton staff on Thursday 24 December 2015 until noon
• Back on Monday 4 January 2016 8.00 am

The load-sensing PVG120 is a combined directional and flow control valve made for high flow, high pressure demands. The valve is suitable for mining and drilling rigs, forest attachments, marine applications like winches and bow thruster.

Parker Commercial D Line Valve Block repair

Spools (pitted)

A customer brought in a Parker Commercial D Line 8 section valve block, off a rig mounted offshore crane, for repair.

The valve block was dismantled, all parts cleaned and inspected. The spools were found to be pitted and the mounting lug on the outlet cover was damaged. The customer wanted only genuine Parker Commercial parts to be used for the repair. So our engineer ordered worksections (spools), relief valves and outlet cover from USA on a 14 week lead time (unfortunately these parts are not available in the UK).

The customer needed a quick fix on the valve block until the genuine parts were received. So our engineer resealed, reassembled and tested it before returning to the customer.

Coloured cable ties

Ingenious use for coloured cable ties!

A 10 bank spool valve was brought into our workshop for inspection. Prior to removing the valve coloured cable ties were fitted to all inlets and outlets of the valve and machinery. The colour cable ties will greatly assist with the refitting of the valve.

P & R Hydraulics offers a full product repair service. Our on-site workshop and maintenance facility includes a test rig which allows our experienced team to rapidly diagnose any product faults and failures.

Our experienced team is able to:

• inspect, repair and test hydraulic motors, pumps and valves 
• modify existing units to suit customer requirements 
• custom build hydraulic pumps, motors and directional control valves, both manual and proportional, using products from Danfoss (Sauer Danfoss) , Parker Hannifin (Commercial and Kontak) and Hy-Pro. 

Upon return, all repaired and serviced units leave the premises tested and ready for customer use. New products can be supplied if the original unit cannot be repaired.

Hy-Pro V5 Spool Valve - Marinised

Today in our workshop we have assembled a Hy-Pro V5 Spool Valve using a marinised worksection, making it corrosion resistant and suitable for maritime applications.

The V5 spool valve was assembled using the following components:-

V5-R140-T4 - Inlet
V5-T40 - Outlet
V5-80 - Bolt Kit
V5-HO - Rotary lever
V5-O - Friction Detent Kit
V5-DCXM - Worksection (marinised)

Our engineer built a Hy-Pro V5 spool valve (single section) to suit our customer's specifications, using the following parts:-
